‘The future of your ecosystem is female!’ Do you agree? Let’s explore the critical role that women play in the African innovation ecosystem together at this year’s AfriLabs Annual Gathering.
The yearly flagship event organized by AfriLabs provides a network and knowledge sharing platform for stakeholders from the African technology and innovation ecosystem. We capitalize on this opportunity to strengthen existing partnerships, build new connections and collectively look towards the future of African innovation.
The Make-IT in Africa support to this year’s AfriLabs Annual Gathering, puts emphasis on inclusive and sustainable innovation ecosystems.
We wish to underline the central role women play in strengthening environments where innovation can thrive – not only, but especially when it comes to leadership. We advocate for collaboration and connectivity that taps into the female powerhouse and bring panel discussions and hands-on workshops on how tech hubs can do just that.
In the theme of intra-African connectivity, we will be launching ‘Founder’s’ Guides to Fundraising’ for 9 countries. The guides are knowledge and information tools developed with ecosystem stakeholders to provide local guidance that assists founders with navigating the technical support and financial options of their fundraising journey. In collaboration with our partners, Briter Birdges and various local partners like Bongo Hive in Zambia, these guides are created by the ecosystem for the ecosystem, with the aim of increasing investment opportunities and strengthening startup resilience.
We believe that only collective action and joint investment can challenge the gaps, barriers and protectionism that stand in the way of African innovation. We are delighted to continue collaboratively working with Afrilabs and other partners towards a truly interconnected pan-African innovation ecosystem.
We look forward to being a part of the conversation, see you there!
