Ecosystem resilience requires resilient innovation enablers

The COVID-19 pandemic has had adverse effects on the development of entrepreneurship ecosystems. Therefore, we support the Association of Startup and SMEs Enablers of Kenya (ASSEK) to boost innovation enabler resilience during and after the pandemic.

ASSEK brings together and represents the interests of enterprise support organizations (ESOs) supporting the development and growth of startups and SMEs. Launched in October 2021, the project “Building Start-up Resilience by Investing in ESOs in Kenya” enables its member organizations to deliver better services to entrepreneurs within their network. Due to the pandemic, the focus is on digital solutions and tools, as well as shared data and best practices – driving transparency, alignment, advocacy, and efficient service delivery.

With the increasing collaboration and shared knowledge amongst ecosystem players, ASSEK nurtures a collaborative environment that favours upcoming entrepreneurial ventures and builds resilience for the whole Kenyan innovation ecosystem.
